The Blood Brothers once screamed “trash into trash equals trash flavored trash.”

Now what does that have to do with the Bad Tits – composed of Sebastian Grainger and Josh Reichmann – album Garbage Night (Hand Drawn Dracula – 2010)? Well… legend has it that the material was written in the summer of the great Toronto garbage strike, hence the name and the precariously taken photos of the two musical heroes trolloping through refuse on the album cover and back. This isn’t the type of garbage that should be cast out with the lot, and it isn’t garbage in the strictest sense. This is an old concert T that’s got a few blood stains and is faded and torn – it’s been to dirty places and it will again – which you wear it out of impulse and comfort. This is garbage meant for a Mr. Fusion reactor that powers you up to 1.21 gigawatts and takes you where you don’t need roads or trousers. Each track on this album is a decadent morsel of garage pop catchiness that refuses to be heard only once; it beacons the listener to play it over and over again until the needle on your phono is just a worn nub.
